teen strength training

For teens – It’s About Confidence. It’s Not About the Dumbbell.

When most adults hear “teen strength training,” they picture grunting, dropped weights, and bulky muscles. Here’s the truth: the most important thing your teen will gain in our *Learn to Lift* program isn’t a six-pack. It’s self-respect & confidence.

We’ve entered an era where teens are more sedentary and anxious than ever before.

Screens offer passive entertainment.

Sports are hyper-competitive.

Many teens feel disconnected from their own bodies.

Strength training changes that.

**Why teens need barbells (not just bodyweight)**

Between ages 13-18, a teen’s body is flooded with growth hormone. This is a golden window for building bone density, neuromuscular coordination, and metabolic health. But more critically, learning to squat, hip hinge, press, and pull teaches a teen:

* Physical literacy: How to move with intention, not just “work out.”

*Stress inoculation: Lifting heavier (safely & not too much) teaches grit. When you fail a rep, you learn to try again.

* Posture & presence: Standing tall isn’t just physical. It changes how they walk into a classroom.

The “Learn to Lift” difference

This isn’t a CrossFit class scaled down. It’s not a coach yelling at them to “push through pain. Our 4-week small-group program is built for teens who have *never* touched a barbell. We teach:

– Week 1: The squat & hip hinge (foundation).

– Week 2: The push & pull (upper body).

– Week 3: Accessories & mobility (injury prevention).

– Week 4: Putting it together + program design (so they can train anywhere).

**One rule: No ego allowed.**

We leave phones in lockers. We high-five good form, not heavy weight. And we guarantee: after four weeks, your teen will stand taller, focus better in school, and have a community of peers who lift each other up—literally.

**Spots are capped at 8 teens per class.**

📅 4 weeks sessions start in June & July | ⏰ [M&W 7-8PM & T&Th 4-5PM] | 📍 [CFE Fitness, 15 Wall St., Burlington, MA]
